[NN] Re: healthy diet for a cat?

There are different opinions on that one. I think cats who stay indoors are terribly understimulated and may go a little mad at the lack of sensory input, moving things to chase, smells, etc. But we don't get highly bred cats, most of ours are from feral parents and may have more of their instincts intact so they need more activity than we can provide for them.

Yes there are more dangers, but I wouldn't prevent my kids from going outdoors because it's safer in the house, either.

Cats who aren't allowed outside are more likely to get lost (tho usually they just hide nearby) because they aren't used to being out there.
